Contract Shop is a detailed directory of over 7300 businesses throughout Wales, with opportunity posting and matching services included. The directory is structured by region and industry making it easy to search for the right buyer or seller near you.

The project was officially launched on the 28th June 2005 at the North Wales Conference Centre by the ex WDA Chairman, Sir Roger Jones.

The Local Supplier Development Project offers businesses large and small the chance to win a greater share of a growing market - and play their part in creating a prosperous 21st Century Wales.

What is the Local Supplier Development Project?

The Local Supplier Development Project aims to facilitate inter-trading activity in Wales and provide practical support and help to SMEs in securing both public and private sector contracts. The project is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and part financed by the European Union.

The project builds on the success of the 'Contract Shop' and the 'Public Sector Local Supply Chain Initiative', which originated in North Wales, and provides support to facilitate inter-trading activity and provide practical assistance to businesses to secure both public and private sector contracts.

Key activities of the project include:

- Connecting Welsh small to medium sized businesses in order to facilitate an inter-trading environment

- Enabling Welsh businesses to promote themselves on a specifically designed Website and CD ROM directory

- Encouraging and supporting businesses to work together and bid for public and private sector contracts

- Offering support to businesses in identifying opportunities available and organising regional relevant events - carried out by a Local Supplier Champion
