Andy is the Director of the Centre for Outdoor Education Studies at Trinity College, University of Wales. He has been involved with outdoor and experiential learning for over twenty five years and has taught in higher education in Australia and the UK. He has travelled and taken part in expeditions throughout the world including Scandanavia, New Zealand, Australia, Russia, China, Nepal, South Pacific islands, North America, and Antarctica.

Andy is an Accredited Practitioner of the Institute for Outdoor Learning and uses the outdoor learning environment as a setting for personal development, community regeneration and management training programmes. has worked with a broad range of client groups including young people, children, higher education students, adults returning to work, special needs, management, ethnic minorities and youth at risk. He is a highly respected commentator on outdoor and experiential learning and a regular contributor to international publications and conferences on outdoor learning and retains an active coaching role in mountaineering, rock climbing, kayaking, and caving.
