The shop provides a wide variety of services including, shoe repairs, shoe polishing, key cutting services, metal etching and engraving, watch repairs including batteries and watchstraps, leather stitching and leather repairs. The shop also sells a range of shoe care products such as polish, dubbing, insoles and laces.

The business is run by Wayne James who has worked in the shoe repair business for over 35 years and has gained extensive experience in his field. As a highly skilled craftsman he has provided a unique and valuable service to the community of Talbot Green since 1987.

 

Mend-a-Shu was first established by Wayne’s father Ron Llewellyn James . Then the business was based in Cardiff, from an early age Wayne would spend as much time as possible learning the trade from his father in the shop. Upon leaving school Wayne decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and went to work in the family run business.

 

Wayne took over the running of the business in 1978 and has continued at the helm ever since. His brother Neil also works at the business albeit on a part time capacity, but they are keeping in the tradition of it being family run business.
