Drama Workshops

During the summer Sascha Hobbs, Rachel Jenkins and Hannah Holmes travelled every day to Cwmaman Institute for a week long programme of drama workshops.  Along with nine other young people they created a short play, which was performed in front of the commmunity/parents at the end of the week.

The play they wrote was about typical Welsh life in the valleys and the challenges they face when growing up.  The three girls performed brilliantly all week and during the performance, so well done to them.

Young People from Blaenllechau Youth Project & The Viva Project attended a presentation evening at The National Museum of Wales Cardiff.  They have been working producing pictures of their favourite Welsh celebrities over a six week period, these were then displayed at The Museum.  Families of the young people attended and celebrated in style with a grand buffet.  After the exhibition period the paintings will be hung in The BELL Centre some time in June, if you would like to see them then call in.

Arts & Crafts

During the summer playscheme we had a week of arts & cratfs activites for the children attending playscheme. These sessions were at the request of the children and included scars and wounds, hands in wax and henna tattoos.  These sessions were very popular and we hope to bring in similar workshops in the future.

The sessions were funded by The Arts Council for Wales
