Whether singing our hearts out on Sundays or serving delicious lunches on Tuesdays, we are always ready to welcome you at Castle Square Church.

Who are we?
Castle Square United Reformed Church is a Christian church situated in the village of Trefforest, south of Pontypridd in south Wales. It was founded by Ebenezer Welsh Congregational Church, Rhydyfelin as an English Congregational Church during the great Welsh Revival of 1905, and the current building was erected in 1906. In 1972 it became part of the United Reformed Church, a Christian denomination which includes churches from the Congregational, Presbyterian and Disciples traditions in Wales, England and Scotland.

Where are we?
building  The church building is in Castle Street, Trefforest, Pontypridd CF37 1TA, between the Trefforest and Glyntaf campuses of the University of Glamorgan. The building fronts onto the road next to Castle Court Funeral Home, just below Trefforest railway station and “The Pink Shop”.
When they are not in the building, church members are to be found around and about Trefforest, the campus of the University of Glamorgan and the surrounding area. Some folk travel to us from Pontypridd town and from the Beddau, Miskin, Church Village and Tonteg area.

What do we do?
As well as Sunday worship, we serve lunch each Tuesday in term - Chewsdays at Castle Square. The church arranges a number of social activities and special services during the year, some in partnership with other local churches through Pontypridd Christians Together (which has its own portlet in this section of Shape-it.org). Click on the menu on the left for details.
We are also active in the Trefforest Regeneration Partnership and  in our work with students we co-operate closely with the Ecumenical Chaplaincy at the University of Glamorgan [http://glamlife.glam.ac.uk/supportandwelfare/302]

Hiring the premises for community use
Our recently refurbished hall can be hired for community use when not required by the church. The standard charge is £10.00 per session, inclusive of heat and light, but this can be varied in particular circumstances. The kitchen may also be used, subject to compliance with environmental health regulations. The Trustees of the church require a simple hiring agreement to be signed, setting out the terms and conditions of use.
All enquiries should be directed in the first instance to Mr Bob Cox (Tel. 01443 206968).
