Ladies' Guild

The Ladies’ Guild meets weekly from March to November on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm.
The meeting usually involves a speaker who talks about a topical subject, and we have an opportunity to contribute our ideas. We have a time of worship, singing our favourite hymns and songs, and we also share a cup of tea and a biscuit. The meeting ends by 8pm.
All ladies are welcome – you do not have to be a member of the church to join us.

For more details of all Guild activities contact: Mrs Martha Morris (Tel. 01443 662484) or Mrs Marilyn Dillworth (Tel. 01443 651114).

Women’s Guild report 2007

Another year has passed very quickly and we are pleased to have had a good, eventful one in Guild. We have all enjoyed the varied programme of speakers, musical evenings, icing demonstrations and crocheting. Friends have shared holiday experiences with us and the guild members have provided evenings of readings and Kath always provides a good quiz. It is good to know we have talent within the Guild and we are grateful to everyone who has taken part.

We miss members who are not able to join us. We think of Vera, Evelyn and Elsie who has had a fall and an operation and Mary who also had surgery recently. They are all hoping to join us again next year. We miss Iris and would like to say how grateful we have been for all your work over many years, Iris. We remember your talents in so many areas, especially musical and we would love to have you playing the piano for us again!

This year we welcomed a new member, Jean, and are pleased she has settled in straight away.

Our AGM was held in November and again the officers were re-elected. Martha remains our President/Treasurer so thank you, Martha, for all you do and we are so pleased that Bill is making good progress. Thanks also to our tea ladies who are always so willing.
The Christmas Fayre was a great success and we agreed to hand over all the £500 profit to the church.

I personally would like to thank you all for your support to me and for making my job as Secretary and Programme Secretary so much easier.

We wish you all a happy Christmas and Healthy New Year.
God bless you all,
 Marilyn
