Porth United Reformed Church is a Christian church situated in the town of Porth, at the confluence of the Rhondda Fawr and Rhondda Fach rivers in south Wales. It was founded as Porth English Congregational Church in 1881, and the current building was erected in 1885. In 1972 it became part of the United Reformed Church, a Christian denomination which includes churches from the Congregational, Presbyterian and Disciples traditions in Wales, England and Scotland.

Our building is used for a number of church activities, and we host some other local organisations for people of all ages. Click on the menu on the left for further details. We work closely with other local churches in the Lower Rhondda Ecumenical Council and some joint events are held in other church buildings in Porth and Ynyshir.

Porth Carnival - 11th & 12th July
Porth United Reformed Church is taking a full part in the Porth Carnival. On Carnival Saurday 11th July the chapel will be open for peace, quiet and fresh home-made refreshments from 11am-3pm. Then on Sunday 12th July we join with other local Christians for an open-air Songs of Praise in Porth Square (Porth Plaza if wet) with the Lewis Merthyr Band, Beverley Humphreys and local soloists.
The town will be full of activity all day on the Saturday, so do come and visit us!

The church building is in Pontypridd Road, Porth, Rhondda CF39 9PF. The building fronts onto the road close to the junction with Hannah Street and opposite the new “Porth Plaza”. Free public car parking is available next to the Plaza building and also behind the chapel (entrance via Hannah Street).
When they are not in the building, church members are to be found around and about the town of Porth and the surrounding area. Although most worshippers live in Porth itself, some folk travel to us from the lower Rhondda valleys and from the Beddau, Miskin, Church Village and Tonteg area.
