Communion
The service of Holy Communion reminds us of how Jesus, on the night before he died, shared bread and wine with his disciples, and said to them “This is my body” and “This is my blood”. Although they did not understand it at the time, Christians ever since have found that in sharing communion we are in a special way united with Jesus Christ and with the communion of saints, those Christian people who have died and already gone to heaven to be with God.
Communion is celebrated as part of our Sunday morning service on the first Sunday of each month, and also on special occasions such as Good Friday, Easter Day and Christmas Eve. We welcome everyone, of all ages, who hears Jesus’s invitation and wants to respond to receive the bread and the wine. If you prefer not to eat the bread and drink the wine, you are still welcome to come to the service.
Sometimes it is not possible to get to church, and you would like to receive communion at home. This can be arranged by contacting the minister (Tel. 01443 662011 or 07889 858062). He will usually bring an elder of the church with him. You are welcome to arrange for members of your family or a neighbour to join you for this simple service. Home communion can be given in Welsh or English, as you wish.
