1st Porth (URC) Brownies and Guides

News

Porth Brownies and Guides entered various competitions in the Central Glamorgan Guide County Eisteddfod at Garth Olwg School on 18th November.  The Brownies won third prize for their unit collage on the theme of Welsh Guiding, past, present and future.  Angharad Rees won the Guide Welsh recitation for 10 - 12 years.  (The collage is in the Church Hall at the moment).

 
Information
 
The 1st Porth (URC) Brownies is for girls aged 7-10, and meets on Wednesdays during school term. The unit is affiliated to the Brownies nationally and offers a wide range of activities for the girls who attend.
 
The 1st Porth (URC) Guides is for girls aged 10 and above and meets on Wednesdays during school term. Activities include a wide range of Guide badges and activities, as well as games and social events.
Girls aged 14 and above meet in their own group and organise their own activities. These include using the computer supplied by Shape-it.org
 
Brownies and Guides are invited to participate in the monthly Family Service at Porth URC on the third Sunday of each month at 11am, and on special occasions such as Harvest, Christmas and Mothering Sunday the Brownies and Guides lead part of the service.
 
There is currently a waiting list, so parents/guardians are asked to contact the Unit Leader before bringing a girl along.
