Radical Image
We live in a negative world - our newspapers are full of it and our soaps thrive on it. Living in such a culture silently influences us so that often we can't find a way out of our own problems - we live thinking "this is my lot - whatever will be will be". The tremendous news is that God has a plan for our lives and it's better than our plan. He has no desire for us to live in self imposed or culture imposed limitations, but by His power. That's what Radical Image is all about. Over the years we have seen many lives changed from hoplessness to hope. So far in this series , we've looked at overcoming guilt, changing our attitudes to change our life, overcoming anxiety and how to feel good about yourself. Now we are looking at how to make your marriage better. We're giving practical advice to make it better - It doesn't matter whether it is brilliant, struggling or disastrous it will improve. Radical Image takes place every Sunday evening.
Foundations
The bamboo plant is very strange. You plant it in the ground and water it, and feed it and water it and feed it and water it.... and it does absolutely nothing. Then one day it grows 6 feet in one day. All that time it looked as if it was doing nothing it was putting down a root system that was preparing for rapid growth. Before you can grow up, you have to grow down. That's what Foundations is all about. If you are building a garage the foundations are minimal - but if you want to build another Empire State Building, the foundations go deep. In Foundations we apply basic Christian principles to make life work better - to give us something to build our lives on and help us live life to the full. Foundations meets every Wednesday evening. CFC is our ladies group which meets every other Wednesday evening. Woman was created to be beautiful and glorious - a helper suitable for her husband. madly many women live lives which are unfulfilled due to a sense of inferiority, rejection, abuse and busyness. Jesus Christ came to reveal God's love for mankind and that includes women. Under His arm we find protection; in His heart we are beloved. He alone can restore women to the wholeness and completeness they were created for by giving them value, dignity, honour and destiny. This is life as God intended it - do your best not to miss it.
Tender Warrior
Men are getting a bad press. An 8 year old boy who had been left by his dad was asked to write an essay about what a man is. This is what he said. A real man is kind and caring, he helps his wife, he helps his kids when they are sick, he doesn't run from his problems, he sticks with it and keeps his promises, he is honest. A real man is not introuble with the law. It's a lonely boy's vision of a man who stays. Tender Warrior is all about being a better husband, a better father, a better example - and we can all learn something - however good we are. It's about making our wives the most blessed people on the planet and building up our children to stand strong and tall in the future. Tender Warrior is modelled on the life changing teaching of The Tender Warrior - Jesus, and takes place on the alternate Wednesdays to Created For Completeness.
