Maximising Opportunities Event - Eileen Place - Field, Ty Newydd 10.30 - 13.00
A scheme that provides information and advice on money matters to ensure people get the maximum income is being introduced in Treherbert.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Equality, Diversity and Social Justice Team has joined forces with agencies, including the CWMNI Communities First team, to hold an event in Eileene Field, Ty Newydd on 29th July.
The event, which includes Healthy Eating Stand, is open to all who want to find out more about money matters and how they can maximise their income.
Starting from 10.30 to 13:00, it will include experts to offer advice on money management, dealing with debts, applying for benefits, tax discounts and more.
People can also attend the event to collect their free copy of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Managing Your Money booklet, which has proved such a success it is now on its third edition.
Agencies including Job Centre Plus, Citizens Advice Bureau, Interlink, the Genesis project, Coleg Morgannwg and Age Concern will have information stands at the event.
Cllr Annette Davies, Cabinet member for Equality, said: “The Maximising Opportunities initiative it about helping people to increase their income – and make better use of it – through the services and opportunities that are available to them.
“As well as helping people to ensure they are receiving the money and credits they are entitled to, it is about helping them save, reduce debt, budget and more.”
