Associate Membership for 16 and 17 year olds is possible, providing there is a current SWPR member prepared to vouch for you on events and activities. The only constraint is some SWPR socials will have an age restriction of 18. Please ask the Executive Committee if this is relevant to a social event at the time.
Unfortunately we are not currently accepting membership from persons under the age of 16. Sorry.
Will I be able to come along on the Investigations?
The only way to become involved in a SWPR Investigation is to become a Trained Investigator. We are expanding our group by enlisting Trained Investigators to shadow our Executive members during investigations. This will hopefully provide you with a more personal and rewarding experience than you may experience in some of the larger public investigations.
To become a fully Trained Investigator you will have to become an Associate Member, and then attend one of our Training Days. Associate Members will be informed when and where these training days are held.
Please note, due to our method of investigations, a large selection of our forthcoming investigations are at private accommodation. These types of locations would therefore be unsuitable for a large investigation. We also believe that this would be insensitive to the owners and their families.
We also try to hold a small number of Investigative Events in large locations throughout the year for all Associates to have the opportunity to participate in.
If there are any future public investigation events, run by SWPR or other groups, Associate Members will be the first to be informed.
Don't forget, as an Associate Member you will have free entry to our Annual General Meeting, which we will hold each year in a South Wales Haunted Location. We will have guest speakers and an opportunity for everyone present to investigate the location at an additional small cost! This years was on the 31st march at the Newbridge Memo - the most active location any of us have been to!
