Groundwork’s Places Team offer a range of volunteering experiences to cater for most who wish to volunteer. Our work aims to help protect and enhance the unique landscape, habitats and wildlife of the Merthyr and Rhondda Cynon Taff Valleys.
Why volunteer?
· It’s good fun!
· It’s a great to meet new people
· It’s a good way to keep fit
· Your involvement helps protect your local environment
· There’s a feel good factor in a job well done
It is also…….
· An excellent way to gain work experience and practical skills
· Beneficial in helping people back into work after injury or long-term inactivity
· Show prospective employers a willingness to work
Our volunteer programme offers a range of opportunities to suite your needs for both individuals and groups. We offer short and long-term volunteering from 1-week placements to 3-5 days for as long as you want. Then there’s our main volunteer initiatives the mid-week group which meets every Wednesday (pick up points appointed) and the weekend group which meets one Saturday per month. We also reimburse travel expenses incurred (except taxi cost).
