The scheme can:
 
  • provide support into employment, college, independent living and Direct Payments
  • arrange speakers to advise on things like benefits, housing issues and using equipment to help you live more independently
  • support you to access education and training programmes that reflect your interests
  • encourage you to get you involved in all sorts of social and leisure pursuits that you enjoy or in new things that you want to try out
  • create opportunities for you to make new friends

What members told us about ATI:
 
  • Taking part in the ATI activities was important to me - it was one of the few times each month that I did things away from my family’. 
  • ‘The people in the group were very welcoming and that helped me feel part of the team very quickly. In fact, I now meet up socially with some of the members outside the group activities.’
  • ‘I have enjoyed making friends with people of a similar age and with similar interests to me’.
