Colour Therapy
This page is about COLOUR THERAPY
Colour Therapy is a Holistic Therapy that treats the person as a whole.
It is a Complementary Treatment that can be used in conjunction with Medical Treatment.
Colour affects our physical/mental/emotional/spiritual well being and our ancestors knew much about the healing properties of colour.
Today we are re-discovering the importance of light, and understanding the way it disperses into our systems, creating rainbow colours within our seven main Chakra centres in the body.
When our energies are out of balance we can feel tired, emotional, unwell etc and Colour Therapy can help to address this by re-balancing the Chakra system with colour.
Your Treatment
At your first visit, a detailed history is taken of your lifestyle/medical problems.
This ensures that treatment is appropriate for you and carried out safely.
A treatment is given while you are lying on a couch or comfortably seated in a chair.
You will be asked to remove your shoes/coat and glasses if you wear them.
Your Therapist will cover you with a white sheet/blanket and will use a combination of crystals/coloured silks on/around your body.
A guided visualisation can also be used to help you absorb colour into your system.
During treatment you will usually feel deeply relaxed and sleepy. Sensations such as warmth, tingling, coolness are sometimes felt.
You may experience some, all or none of these sensations either during or after a Colour Therapy treatment. This is due to the effects of stimulating the energies throughout the body and is a perfectly normal response.
Some people feel nothing at all - don't worry, the treatment is still working for you!
After your Treatment
After your treatment it is important that you follow this advice :
Rest and relax wherever possible
Drink plenty of fluids
Have light meals/snacks
Avoid alcohol/smoking for 24hrs
The above advice is to ensure you get the best on going benefits from your treatment.
How many Treatment Sessions?
This will be discussed with you at your initial consultation, you may have just one or several weekly treatments and this will be reviewed as Therapy progresses.
