Cynon Valley History Society was founded over 30 years ago. Its aims are to promote the history of the Cynon Valley and to research and publish books and articles on this subject.

• The Society holds monthly meetings that are addressed by professional speakers and are usually illustrated with slides.
• Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month (July and August excepted) at 7.15 p.m. It meets at the Parish Hall, Monk Street.
• The Society publishes a quarterly Newsletter "HANES".
• The Annual Membership Fee is currently £6.
