The charity was founded by Linda Sheldon in memory of her late father. Equip Wales aims to fund equipment for local hospitals. When Clifford Griffiths suffered two massive strokes, Linda was unhappy with the lack of resources available to stroke patients so decided to set up Equip Wales to help rectify the situation. The charity aims to buy equipment that may not be deemed essential by the hospital administration but could play a vital part in the patients recovery. The charity will also use any funds raised in to provide equipment to welsh hospitals.
Sponsored Slim
Linda Sheldon & Angela Burton are currently undertaking a sponsored slim to raise money for Equip Wales and a new branch of the charity Equip England. Linda & Angela registered officially with doctors on 1st November 2005 and have until 31st October to reach their target weights. Linda starting weight was 15st 6lbs and she has lost 8lb to date, Angela started at 14st 6lbs and has lost 6lb to date. Volunteers Needed
Equip Wales are currently fundraising in Barry, Llandock, the Heath, the Childrens Hospital of Wales, Prince Charles, Aberdare and Neville Hall hospital but are looking for more volunteers so that they can extend their coverage.
