Michael Ball
International singing star Michael Ball has a long association with The Mountain
Ash R.F.C. Singers and is an honorary member of the Choir.
Michael is the nephew of top tenor Howell Parry Davies (Tommy Champ). Those who have heard Tommy singing can understand where Michael's talent comes from.
Through this connection the Choir have appeared with Michael on his television show. Provided the choral backing on recordings of 'Anthem' 'So Strong' and have sung with Michael in concert.
The name of 'The Mountain R.F.C. Singers' can also be found amongst the credits on the first 'Robson and Jerome CD.
Michael also sings on the Choir's recording 'The Collection'. Performing a duet with his Uncle Tommy on 'Lily of the Valley', and featuring as the soloist on the Choir's rendition of 'Who put the Bomp'.
Due to Michael's hectic schedule he has difficulty in attending practices. But the Choir members are keeping track and Michael will have to present a large cheque to the treasurer to bring his subscriptions up to date when he next attends.
