The Benefits of Tang Soo Do

We teach basic and advanced punching, blocking and striking techniques, kicking techniques icluding jumping and flying kicks, together with locks and sweeps and sparring techniques that are all used in our self defence syllabus. We also practice Hyung (Kata or forms), sparring and self defence techniques. At an advanced level we train with weapons such as long staff and practice knife and sword defence techniques.

Tang Soo Do is taught in a safe and friendly environment, where everyone can learn at their own pace whilst having fun enjoying themselves. Everyone, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to overcome work towards new goals and progress along the belt system to be ultimately promoted to Black Belt. We also instill the traditional values that seem to be lacking in today's society such as respect, self-control and self-discipline, co-operation, tolerance and courtesy. Through Tang Soo Do, students learn self-motivation, determination, perserverance that allows them to be a confident person who will be able to deal with life's many challenges.

Tang Soo Do will also make you fit, help you lose weight, make new friends, help children do better in school, deal with bullying, improve concentration and co-ordination, improve flexibility and reduce stress.

The club regularly takes part in a variety of events and tournaments such as those listed on our News and Events pages. Numerous Students have been sucessful medallists in National, European, International and World Tang Soo Do Championships and the class has even appeared on TV, featuring on S4C's Wedi 3  Welsh Language Programme.
