Rules and Regulations

Hirwaun & District Pool League

 

 

The league shall be known as the HIRWAUN & DISTRICT POOL LEAGUE

 

It is an affiliated member of the Welsh Pool Association and will follow and adhere to the rules of the Welsh Pool Association. However, the league can alter the rules by consent of an A.G.M.

 

TEAMS PARTICIPATING in the league shall consist of at least four players per side a registration fee enables players to participate in all tournaments.

 

The transfer of players is allowed but must be ratified by the following monthly meeting the format of matches will be FOUR SINGLES TWO DOUBLES followed by another FOUR SINGLES two bonus points to be awarded to the winning side in the event of a tied match one bonus point to be awarded to each team.

 

MATCH RESULTS must be postponed or delivered to the address shown on the match cards no later than the Friday following the game. The home side will be responsible for delivery of match cards. 

Failure to do this will result in penalty points being deducted from offending teams.

 

MATCHES TO COMMENCE at 8pm with an absolute deadline of 8.30am. Teams or players arriving after this time will not be allowed to play unless an agreement is reached between the teams involved.

 

CANCELLATION OF MATCHES A 24 hour notice must be given, or matched will be forfeited by offending team. In this event the team present will be awarded the highest score of the night in their division, plus two bonus points in cup, singles and doubles matched, teams or players failing to appear will lose tie.

 

NON ATTENDANCE OF MEETING Teams must be represented by registered members of that team only. A & B sides to be represented separately. Failure to attend will result in a fine plus penalty points against offending teams.

 

SINGLES AND DOUBLES TOURNAMENTS Players who have registered for these matches and fail to turn up will be banned for the following seasons tournaments. A paid fine stipulated by the league will enable them to re=register.

 

BREAKOFF SHOT The opening break shot is determined by lag, the player winning the lag has the choice of performing the opening break shot or assigning it to the opponent. Breaks alternate thereafter.

    

MONTHLY MEETINGS The monthly meeting fees to be increased to enable league to give financial assistance to the countyside.

 

PRIZE DRAW Prize draw to be made at end of monthly meetings if winning teams are not present a re-draw will be made.

 

PRESENTATION AWARDS If players or teams are not present trophies will be re sold back to suppliers.
