The Corporate Transport Unit within the Environmental Services Group promotes and co-ordinates public transport activity throughout the County Borough. It manages four bus stations, located at Aberdare, Pontypridd, Talbot Green and Tonypandy. The facilities are well used by the travelling public and provide an integral part of the overall bus journey.

The bus shelter is an important part of the overall journey package, as it is at the bus stop where the passenger first comes into contact with the service. The Council provides over 250 bus shelters throughout the Rhondda and Cynon Valleys. Those in the former Taff Ely area are provided by the local Community Councils. New shelters are being introduced with the increased use of glazing they are now much more attractive and less obtrusive to the environment.
