Summer Playschemes

SUMMER PLAYSCHEMES 2007

For younger children, Fframwaith has worked in partnership with Rhondda Cynon Taf Play Association to deliver summer play schemes in more areas than ever before.

In addition to the Play schemes which will running in selected leisure centres until 25th August, Fframwaith has also commissioned several local community organisations to deliver ‘open access’ play schemes throughout the six-week holiday period, the majority of which are free.
“We have tried to share the provision more evenly across the County Borough, which means that some children will have access to playschemes for the first time,” says Cabinet Member for Children and Equality, Cllr Annette Davies. “The variety of provision has also been increased and this year we have playworkers operating in local community centres, leisure centres, schools, parks and playbuses. We also have teams of mobile playworkers touring local play areas supporting children’s play within their own community - look out for our ‘Play Pods’ in Penygraig, Rhydyfelin, Trecynon, Robertstown, Porth, Tynewydd and the Graig.”
