Q. How will the community benefit?
A. The programme will provide a central point of contact for Rhondda Cynon Taf that will be accessible through Internet. It aims to raise awareness of groups, events, activities and anything that's happening in the valleys.
Q. Who is it for?
A. Everyone living, working, or visiting Rhondda Cynon Taf - members of the public, community groups, organisations and businesses.
Q. What if I haven’t got access to the Internet and a computer?
A. As part of the programme we intend to significantly increase access to the internet. To achieve this we will be making PCs available to community centres, village halls, and community groups - places where people meet. We will also be installing Public Access Points (or kiosks) in places such as leisure centres for everyone to use. Alongside these public facilities, we are joining with the National DigiTV programme so if you have a Sky subscription you will be able to view some of this information and interact through your set-top box.

Q. How will people access Shape-it.org?

A. There are four ways people to gain easy access to the website.
1. Through any computer with internet access, preferably with broadband to enable quicker use.
2. Through computer kiosks located in public places for everyone to use.
3. Through this programme computers and Internet access will be available in local community centres and buildings so that those participating in the programme can update their content.

Q. Will my portlet be available on SKY Interactive TV?
A. Sky interactive will contain a limited number of community portlets. These portlets will appear in a more simplistic form (at the moment the amount of text will be limited and will not include photographs or pictures.) If you want your portlet to appear on Sky Interactive please contact your outreach advisor for advice on how to re-purpose your portlet.
Q. Do I need consent forms for all my photos on my portlet?
A. You will need an image consent form for any photos of specific people or groups that you include in your portlet. The only time you will not require a consent form is for general crowd photos taken at public events (eg at a fun run or in a fate). If you do not have your own image consent forms you can use the forms that we had produced for our project. To get a copy of the form please either call us on 01443 680680 or e-mail us at info@shape-it.org.
